Asus Planning Smartphone Blitz In 2009, Includes Android

In an effort to compete with main rival HTC, Asus are planning to introduce at least ten new smartphone models in 2009 - some running Google Android and some powered by Windows Mobile.

Exact details for the devices are not currently known although it is believed that almost all the new models will have support for 3G and include touchscreen displays.

Asustek has only launched seven new smartphones so far in 2008, this is way below their initial target of 13-15.
