		<description>Apple didn&#039;t invent pinching for zooming. That was done years and years ago. In fact most gestures for multitouch have been around for 2 decades. Apple does however own the patent on the way their hardware detects more than one touch. This was bought from a small company several years ago. I just wonder why HTC can create the screen capable of MT without breaking patents, but Google cannot create the software to run it without infringing on patents.</description>

		<description>I think part of the issue with multitouch on the G1 is that Apple has patents on it.  These patents may or may not include &quot;gestures&quot; -- so actually pinching may be out of the question on a Non-apple touchscreen.</description>
