2.8-inch Vodafone Smart gives you Froyo, WiFi, and GPS for 99 Euros

Let’s face it, a lot of Android’s continued world domination will come from the cheaper or entry level devices. Today Vodafone introduced the “Smart” or the Vodafone 858.

The specs are as follows:

  • 2.8-inch (320 x 240) capacitive touch screen
  • Android 2.2
  • quadband 2G
  • 2100 MHz 3G capable
  • WiFi and Bluetooth, and GPS
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • 1200 mAh battery

Okay I know you hardcores have no interest in this, but if you think about it, there are a lot of consumers out there that don’t even have a smartphone yet or are just not savvy. I know a lot of people who own a really nice smartphone, but don’t do much more with it other than texting and calling. For 99 Euros this can only help Android continue to dominate.

According to the Vodafone website the screen is QVGA resolution. So that lets it down.
