The guys over at xda-developers have unlocked wireless-N capabilities on the HTC Evo. You heard right, unlocked… apparently, the capability was there along along, but disabled. For those of you with an Evo that have been having issues with wifi, this could very well breathe fresh air into your device’s data speeds and ranges. After the hack, many are reporting better stability and range, at least when connected to a wireless-N router. The hack is pretty easy, and an equally simple rollback is provided as well, in case you bork your wifi in the process. If you’d like to give it a try, head on over to xda and check it all out.
