Well folks, it’s been a long time coming (for a lot of us), but some of us are finally catching a Netflix break. The Netflix media player client has finally hit for the following devices:

  • HTC Incredible with Android 2.2
  • HTC Nexus One with Android 2.2, 2.3
  • HTC Evo 4G with Android 2.2
  • HTC G2 with Android 2.2
  • Samsung Nexus S with Android 2.3
I personally tried this out on my HTC Evo 4G (being the sceptic I am), and confirmed it working! Within seconds of downloading, I was enjoying some Mystery Science Theater 3000. So what are you waiting for? Check out the gallery of Netflix working below, and be sure to download it from the market here. Let us know how it goes in the comments!

I hope the folks over at XDA port it to other devices :-)

Well, I guess My G2X is going to have to sit in the back seat for a couple of days while I break my Nexus One out again :O

What about Samsung Galaxy S owners? I have an Epic 4g and is supposed to geared for media content. Are they planning on adding more devices??

  • Abraham Ellis

No love for Gingerbread on the Inc, I guess. Force clos es on launch (CM7). Ah well.

  • Lolly

Thank the Friday the 13th gods! Netflix is here and streaming beautifully on HTC EVO.

  • ncubed

Works amazing on my CM7 Incredible, so might want to look into reinstalling or even reflashing to get it to work, Abraham.

I have the new HTC Incredible 2.2 and I cant find the netflix app in the androd market. My daughter has the first generation Incredible and she found and downloaded it. I’ve also seen it work on the HTC EVO. My phone is on the list of devices for the new netflix but I just cant find it. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

It works well on my evo but I don’t know why I can’t use the hdmi cable on my tv ! Anyone can help me ?

  • Braddo

I downloaded the Netflix app off Market for my Evo 4g and it worked great! But then it said I had to update it, and when I tried to update there was no update. The old version would not work either. Hoping for a new release.

I just saw the app in the market and at first I thought it was just and app to view your account, and view your que. Finally, I have netflix up and running on my Nexus one (t-Mobile) I’m watching the “Tin Man” as we speak(write). With the additional craddle I got for the phone I can watch on my tv, thought only throught RCA. So far so good

Well I did have Netflix for my HTC Evo, and then I kept getting a pop up saying that there was an update available for it. When I tried to download/install the update it kept getting no response on the other end. So I uninstall the Netflix app, go to re-download it to get the current version (hopefully) and guess what, the HTC Evo is no longer a supported device!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the ****, how the h*ll did this happen??? The app was freakin sweet…when I had it. If someone could enlighten me to the situation here I would be greatly indebted, especially if you could tell me a way I can get even the old version back on my phone!! PLEASE!!!

  • fulvio

Unbelievable!!! I thought I was the only one that was dupped into removing my Netflix app. After doing this I could no longer find it!! It was working fine and me so stupid, I listened to the updates notices. I can no longer find them. Can someone pls help?

  • Fr334all

Nope your not the only one!! What I would like to know is what in the heck was even the point of this??!! I mean all this little stunt is bound to accomplish is pissing people off!! I waited, what seems like forever, for the Netflix Android app to come out, and when it does this happens??!! If something isn’t done about it I’m dropping Netflix immediately! I don’t care how much I did like it or how much I used it. The least they could do is supply the install file for the previous version, because as you said fulvio, it was working just fine before. The only reason I did what I did is to make the update available screen stop popping up. Another this is that I can’t find an email address for the people in charge of situations such as this.

Also fulvio, what kind of phone do you have?? Mine is an HTC Evo 4G. If all of us the have this problem can find out were to complain and do just that complain. We may be able to put up a big enough stink to at the very least get some answers, and preferably get our app back!!!!!!!

I also have an EVO. Netflix was working beautifully until that “update”. Very annoying.

  • Fr334all

Well everyone, at least with an HTC Evo 4G you can as of tonight get Netflix again!!! They had me going for a minute there, mostly because it is such a great app!!! Definitely the best app I’ve ever downloaded off the market place!

For the brazilian Android Market, the Nexus One is not listed as a supported device. This is actually the first time I see an app incompatible with my phone… =/

Does anyone know a workaround for that – using the official app?
