Test drive CyanogenMod: CM7 for the HTC Thunderbolt

The HTC Thunderbolt is, disappointingly, another high end phone recently released without Gingerbread. If you own the HTC Thunderbolt and cannot wait for Gingerbread, you will be happy to know that XDA member slayher, along with other devs, are working hard at porting CyanogenMod: CM7 to the HTC Thunderbolt.

CM7 is basically a build of Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread in its purest form so if you are a Senseaholic you probably won’t be interested.

This project is at the early stages, and when I say early, I mean pre-alpha state. By test driving now, you can help with the development by posting bugs. The more users, the faster the development will be. Hit the source link for more information.

I couldn’t get past the splash screen. What a waste of time. Hopefully by beta stage it will be a viable alternative. Of course, we should all have gingerbread by then.
