HTC and ASUS may delay tablet launches due to Japan disasters

DigiTimes is reporting that several tablet manufacturers may be delaying the launch of their devices, specifically the HTC Flyer and the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer due to the natural disasters that struck Japan over the last few weeks. We’ve heard that parts manufactured within Japan may be in short supply as they try to rebuild stock, which is something that Sony Ericsson has also made known due to their components being made in Japan for their Xperia Neo.

HTC has commented on this report stating that they still intend on launching the Flyer tablet device in Q2 of 2011 (which we are in), but did not specify any date. We haven’t heard from ASUS over the matter as of yet.
