Samsung’s Galaxy S dual core processors to run at 1.2 GHz

So, here we’ve been, chugging along, thinking that Samsung’s Galaxy S II CPU’s would be coming in at 1GHz. Well, think so no more, as Samsung has announced that the dual core processors will be coming in at a rip-snorting 1.2GHz, a full 200MHz boost from the original plan.

While we all love to see some performance boost, the question remains as to what this increase may do for battery life. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

It can only be a good thing in my opinion, once custom kernels/roms come out we’ll probably be able to underclock it if needed.

btw, eurodroid also mentioned today that the galaxy s II is to be release this month!

As long as they do not raise the minimum speed of the chip, it could be power neutral as less time will be required to execute a given set of instructions.

are they even gonna release it? if they take lil longer, we might just wait for their phones running with 2GHz processors :p
