As you all know, it’s the month of March which means one thing to college basketball fans: March Madness! So far in the Elite 8, Arizona and Florida have been knocked off by UConn and Butler, giving those teams a berth in the Final Four. VCU and Kansas are playing now, and Kentucky and North Carolina play later today.

For those of you Android users on the go, what better way to follow March Madness than with an app? Brought to you by AT&T, NCAA March Madness Fanzone lets you do just that. But don’t think this app is just a scoretracker; we’ll delve into the details after the break!

March Madness Fanzone lets you interact in real time with other college basketball fans posting messages under various groups, according to the teams they prefer. You do have to sign up for a Fanzone profile in order to post messages and join groups, which is a fairly simple and fast process, but you can still browse scores and others’ messages without signing up if you wish.

Seen above, I’m tracking the score of the VCU vs Kansas game as well as viewing others comments in the discussion board. Posting a comment is as easy as sending a text with your device; just enter in your desired text in the box at the bottom. There’s also a button that launches your camera if you want to upload or take pictures.

For all your bracketologists, NCAA March Madness Fanzone also allows you to view brackets. Although I did find it a bit cumbersome not being able to zoom in and out on the brackets page, it does get the job done. Viewing the scoreboard and rankings is a much better experience, although it was hard not to notice closely modeled this app is after the iPhone version (hence the Back and Refresh buttons at the top). C’mon now, AT&T.

CONCLUSION

So there you have it folks! NCAA March Madness Fanzone is a great app for all your college basketball needs, especially if you need something more than just a scoreboard tracker. NCAA March Madness Fanzone is for the hardcore basketball fans who want to interact with other fans as well as view brackets, news, and rankings at their fingertips. Although the app is a little buggy at times, it gets the job done.

NCAA March Madness Fanzone is available for free in the TalkAndroid ApptlyAndroid database, just click here.

PS: Don’t forget to watch the Final Four games, which will take place in Houston, TX aka the location of the TalkAndroid headquarters! ;) (Go UConn!)
