The newest Apple IPod Touch competitor, the Samsung Galaxy Player 70, was recently released in Korea and is featured in this promo video. We reported earlier that the US would be getting the Galaxy Player 4 and 5 this spring. The Galaxy Player 70 is essentially the Galaxy Player 5.

This video does a nice job at showing all aspects of Android including video conferencing with Qik.

I recently purchased the Galaxy 70 in Korea. I love it! Even though, technically, it is not a smart phone, I find myself using it as such given the cool text and voice apps over here. It’s light weight, sleek, feel nice in my hands- not too small, not too big. I’ve loaded a ton of nice apps- Aldiko book shelf (downloaded a bunch of free books), Learn Korean Pro, Daily Money, BBC, USA Today, Yoga and meditation music, skype, FB, KakaoTalk, Tranquilize (Meditation & Yoga), EVernote, Uloops STudio and a bunch of other apps. Best of all, The Galaxy still runs very smoothly with over 40 apps and it holds all my music, video, photos and journal entries. The player came pre-loaded with Places, Latitude, Voice Search, Navigation, Think Free Office, Voice Recorder, Memo, Qik Video, Eng/Korea Dictionary, TV, RAdio, Maps, Calculator, YouTube, etc.

My PDFs are easy to load and read- they sit right on the bookshelf with the others in Aldiko or I can access them through ThinkFree. My built-in memory is 32GB but I’ve also purchased an additional micro SD of 32GB that I haven’t installed yet. Try doing that with an IPAD or an IPhone, for that matter.
