
Vodafone have announced that they are to launch a 360 Shop for Android. By doing this, they will be offering developers an attractive native/cross-platform propostion.
The shop will be tailored to each users needs and interests making it easy for you to find what you like and want. Any content that you pay for will be charged to your Vodafone bill, of which developers will get a cut. Currently Vodafone are supported Android 1.6 and 2.1 on the following handsets:
- HTC Desire
- HTC Legend
- HTC Wildfire
- SEMC Xperia X10
- SEMC Xperia X10 mini
- SEMC Xperia X10 pro
- Samsung Galaxy S
Vodafone will also employ content guidelines to the apps. They have said that the guidelines will be similiar to those used by their widgets. The Mobile Widgets standard can be found here .
Vodafone are currently running a Beta program to enable free apps to be presented for submission, if you are an Android Developer and would like to submit an application, then check out the Vodafone Native Apps page.
Developers will also be able to take advantage of existing Vodafone features such as clear pricing, a transparent review process and in-depth reporting.
