Full HDMI Output Achieved for Evo with Aptly Titled App FullHDMI

Fellow Evo users may be as happy as I am with a new app called FullHDMI. As you might expect from the name of the app, it allows you to push the HDMI signal of your phone completely, rather than just being able to use the Gallery or YouTube, like the built-in functionality of the Evo allows. Even better, unlike previous iterations of this idea, FullHDMI does not require a particular kernel to run. It does, however, require rooting of your Evo, something to consider if you’re a bit tentative about messing with your device. Another thing to consider is that while any ROM will transmit video, you will need a Sense-based ROM to transmit audio; other ROMs will play audio exclusively through the phone itself.

FullHDMI is available on the Market for $2.99. Video of the app in action after the break!

You forgot to mention the better, FREE alternative called HDMwIn, from the same folks who brought WiMAX to non-Sense ROMs (TeamWIN). The biggest difference (besides being free) is that HDMwIn requires a special kernel which the app can install for you. CyanogenMod 7 already has/will have the HDMI code merged into its included kernel.

I was about to say, didn’t this guy rip off HDMwIn’s UI in order to make a quick buck?

Will this version ever be updated to work without the kernel replacement? I’m a little skiddish about that.

Hdmwin’s app quit working after the update. I got this app and it works great. Ill pay the $3 to not have to deal with the BS

From the picture, this looks like the same app I had bought not too long ago. My phone crashed, so I had to reinstall the OS, but now I can’t find the app on the market. I even paid for it, and it isn’t listed in my apps. What happened?

I think I paid for the same app and I cant find it either. Now there are only two on the the market HDMIwin and HDMI win donate. If the first does’nt work why would anyone donate. If you find that old app please let me know. Thanks and good luck.

I had this app and it was AWESOME! But it stopped working after I updated to Gingerbread and if I would have known that I never would’ve updated! Now I can’t go back to Froyo (or at least that’s what I’ve been told). I guess I could root my phone to go back to Froyo but frankly I’m a bit scared to try that. I may though if I had some clear simple directions on how to do it. Just feel like it may be above my skill level.

Anyway, I do have an e-mail with a link from the developer of this app which let’s you download it. It did get removed from the market awhile back because of all the negative feedback after it stopped working when people updated to Gingerbread. It’s too bad because it was a really great app!
