We reviewed the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro a little while back and were impressed by the camera chops of the larger P20 Pro as well as its outstanding battery life. Having launched towards the tail-end of March at a lavish event in Paris, the question is what sort of sales figures Huawei’s P20 series has managed in the ten weeks since being launched?
The results are more than respectable; Huawei has just announced the sales figures for the P20 Series that reveal an 81% uptick in units sold over 2017’s P10 series. In actual numbers of sales that translates to six million units that have been sold, globally. Considering the troubles that Huawei has experienced with regards to the US market in 2018 with carrier deals falling through and pressure from the White House, the P20 Series has done pretty well. Kevin Ho, President of Huawei’s Handsets Product Line, had this to say:
“We see our success with the HUAWEI P20 Series as encouragement to drive us to continue to excel. Expect to see more from us before the year closes out.”
In our review, the P20 Pro proved to be a real star:
“Huawei’s latest flagship offers something for both professional and amateur photographers alike in a smartphone with both an exquisite design and high-end specifications…”
With around 3-4 months away from the next edition of Huawei’s upcoming flagship phablet, which could well be called the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, the P20 Series still has some time in the spotlight to sell yet more units.
