Samsung has been hard at work testing Android 8.0 Oreo for the Galaxy S8 family of devices, which we’re fully expecting to start rolling out soon. But now that they’ve wrapped up that device, it’s time to start deploying the software to some older devices.
For the next round of devices with Oreo-flavored software, Samsung is testing on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, the 2017 versions of the Galaxy A5 and A3, and the Galaxy Tab S3. Obviously this doesn’t mean we’ll see that update roll out next month, but it’s in the works for the year. Considering Oreo has been out for a while now and Samsung already has it on newer devices, that might mean a sped up development cycle, too.
We’ll keep you updated if we hear more about any of these devices.
