Shipping and pre-order details leak for Samsung’s Galaxy S9/S9+ ahead of MWC launch

CES 2018 has been and gone which naturally means our attention begins to turn towards Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which could see the return of Samsung in a big way thanks to the rumored launch of the Galaxy S9 and S9+. Join us below for more details on the launch, pre-order and shipping dates for Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones.

According to serial leaker Evan Blass, who gained the information from an executive at a case making company, Samsung is planning on launching the Galaxy S9 and S9+ on February 26 at MWC 2018. There’s a little wiggle room on this date because phone launches generally happen the weekend before MWC officially opens its doors, so the February 26 date could be the date of the launch according to the time zone in Seoul, Korea, which would make it Sunday, February 25 over here in Europe. Personally, I think it will be held on February 25, which is a Sunday and traditionally the day that the big phone launches occur.

According to Evan Blass’ source, pre-orders are slated to begin from March 3rd, with orders beginning to ship out from March 16. It’s quite likely that the same time zone difference also applies to the pre-order and shipping dates.

So, this kinda makes sense with LG postponing the G7 launch and the rumor that Huawei will hold a separate event away from MWC to announce the P11/P20.

Are you looking forward to the Galaxy S9?

great phone no doubt, but not enough new features to justify coming from the S8 plus as is always the case when you’ve only had a phone for a year so personally I will wait another year until my current device is paid off so I can sell it for cash and pay for half of my new S10 or whatever I end up getting next year but this looks like a great device and certainly will be better than its predecessor as is always the case as well. I’m thinking next year maybe going back to the note series as I’ve had every one of them except the 7 so it might be time to go to Note 10 next year but we will see what next year’s offerings are well, next year LOL
