Core i7 version of Google Pixelbook on pre-order at B&H

One of the interesting items that Google announced this fall is the new Google Pixelbook that will take advantage of all their work over the years to meld their mobile and “desktop” operating systems into a single entity to power a convertible laptop device. To help raise the brand a bit and answer the call of consumers who want a high end device running Google’s operating system, one of the new Pixelbook variants will come equipped with a top of the line Intel Core i7 processor to go with the 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. To get all of this power, buyers are having to wait for the release though. To get a jump on things, B&H has switched their listing for the Pixelbook to “Preorder” signaling the wait may be closed to being over.

B&H still does not provide any information as to an expected shipping or availability date for the Pixelbook with the Core i7 processor. Sources believe it will be around the middle of December. Over on the Google Store, this particular variant is still in the “waitlist” phase. It is possible that Google will switch from waitlisting potential customers to go direct to taking live orders without a preorder period. Also unclear is whether placing a preorder with B&H will get a new Pixelbook to consumers any faster than waiting for Google to take actual orders. It may help clear off an item from your todo list during this busy holiday season if you know you already have your order placed.
