It’s known that the OnePlus 5T will be announced in India on November 16th, but details are scarce on the exact date of the launch and when it will officially announce the successor to the OnePlus 5 in the west. A couple of interesting factoids have surfaced today about the price of the OnePlus 5T and where OnePlus will announce the phone.

The first tidbit of news comes straight from the OnePlus Twitter account with the company’s logo being shown on a building with the company asking people to guess which city it is going ‘to party in’ for the OnePlus 5T launch. New York is the answer to the question, somewhere near West 34th and Broadway in Manhattan.
More importantly, perhaps, the company’s CEO, Pete Lau, has hinted broadly at the pricing of the OnePlus 5T. When a Weibo user asked him if 4,000 yuan (roughly $600) would be enough to buy the company’s new phone, the CEO replied with the comment of “Enough”. It’s been thought that the OnePlus 5T would launch around the $599 mark, and this comment further implies that this could be the case.
Besides the pricing comment, the OnePlus CEO has also said that the OnePlus 5T will not feature wireless charging, stating that the presence of Dash Charge precludes the need for wireless charging. He also said that the inclusion of a wireless coil would make the handset unnecessarily thick.
In a nutshell, the OnePlus 5T will launch in New York, it should be priced around the $600 mark, and you shouldn’t expect to see wireless charging anytime soon.
