A Best Buy employee says the Galaxy Note 8 will be released a day after the announcement

Only 24 hours will separate the launch of the Galaxy Note 8 from its release in the United States, according to an unidentified Best Buy employee.

Everything is set for Samsung to introduce the Galaxy Note 8 on Wednesday, August 23. The release date, however, has been up in the air. Companies typically schedule release dates for a couple weeks after a product debuts. But Samsung apparently wants to maintain momentum by releasing the Galaxy Note 8 the very next day.

A Best Buy employee, whose role with the company has been confirmed, shared Samsung plans to release its second 2017 flagship the day after it becomes official. So, with that in mind, it looks like the Galaxy Note 8 will be released on Thursday, August 24.

There was a massive report from Evan Blass of VentureBeat that revealed the Galaxy Note 8 is coming with a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with curved edges, a Samsung Exynos 8895 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 for the processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, two 12MP cameras on the rear, and a 3300mAh battery. It will, of course, include an S Pen to enable additional device-specific capabilities.

Talk Android will be live from Samsung’s Unpacked event in New York City, so stick with us for full coverage all day on August 23.
