Go for the gold with new OnePlus 5 in Soft Gold

Today OnePlus launched a new, special limited edition version of the OnePlus 5 in a Soft Gold color. The color has been available from OnePlus on other devices and now joins their latest flagship device to bring the number of available colors to three – Soft Gold, Slate Gray and Midnight Black. Sales of the device commenced today at noon Eastern Daylight Time for customers in the U.S.

According to OnePlus, producing a device in the Soft Gold color involves a process that averages 180 days to complete. The steps start with a visit to a diamond cutter for the aluminum alloy. After that it gets sandblasted and polished in a process that must be timed perfectly – down to the second – in order to ensure the final shade is correct.

OnePlus does not indicate how many units of the device will be made available and they do have plans to release the Soft Gold version in India as well. The good thing is that the price is the same as the Slate Gray version with the same 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. If you are interested in placing an order, you can head on over to OnePlus’ site to get the process started.
