It’s a couple of weeks since LG announced it was launching a new G6 model with slightly upgraded internals called the G6+. Naturally, LG thinks you should run out and buy one, and to illustrate why the Korean handset maker has posted a promo video to its YouTube channel.
So what new features has LG added to the mix? Well, the G6+ is still powered by 2016’s flagship processor, the Snapdragon 821, but RAM has been upgraded to 6GB and internal storage has been bumped up to 128GB. The inclusion of a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC audio processor, previously only available in Korean units, will have warmed the hearts of audiophiles, while the presence of wireless charging in more markets is more than welcome. As a bonus, LG is throwing in a pair of B&O PLAY earphones.
The G6+ is available in a few new color options called Optical Black, Optical Marine Blue, and Optical Terra Gold. The ‘Optical’ part refers to a coating on the handset that creates a shimmering effect as light reflects on it.
