File your taxes easily from your Android phone with TurboTax SnapTax

Just when you thought you’ve seen just about everything an Android phone is capable of doing, enter TurboTax SnapTax. This handy application allows you to file your taxes easily from your Android device. No more tediously filing your W-2 online; TurboTax SnapTax allows you to take a picture of your W-2, which will then allow the app to scan and extract the appropriate information from the W-2 form.

After this, you can verify that the information is correct and then file your taxes. While the TurboTax SnapTax app itself is free, there will be a $14.99 charge for filing taxes from the app.

TurboTax SnapTax for Android allows you to file your federal and state returns within minutes. You can check out TurboTax SnapTax in the TalkAndroid ApptlyAndroid database. Also, be sure to check out a video of the app in action after the break. (Sorry about the video featuring an iPhone, folks.)

I’m waiting for Bank of America to get with the program and allow me to snap pics of checks for deposit.

Is there the ability to FAX from our phones this way?

The Taxes thing is a bit scarey to me though- I dont like to fool around in that department haha
