The Moto Z2 Force will have more carrier availability this time around

It’s almost that time again where Verizon and Motorola/Lenovo are ready to refresh their smartphone lineup. But, this time around, it looks like at least one device won’t be a Verizon exclusive anymore.

Evan Blass took to Twitter, saying that the upcoming Moto Z2 Force won’t be a Verizon exclusive this time around, and might even make it’s way to T-Mobile. And if that’s the case, there could be a chance we’ll see it on other carriers, too.

It’s an interesting move when you consider that last year’s Moto Z Force was a Verizon exclusive, and even after being on the shelf a few months, it never actually left Verizon. But, at the time that that launched, many were actually frustrated it was a Verizon exclusive. It would’ve seen a whole lot more sales numbers if availability was a lot wider, as consumers really wanted to get their hands on its resilient screen.

That’s hopefully changing this time around, if the report from Blass ends up being true. Nothing is official until it’s official, of course, but Blass does have a great track record.

If last year’s product launch is anything to go by, we should start seeing some official details at the end of May or early June.

Hopefully there will be some form of “Play” or “Pure” edition of the Z2 Force and that it will get better update treatment than did the Moto X Pure.

Certainly not the only one feeling that way. Many Moto X Pure Edition owners, including myself, are very unhappy with the way Lenovo has handled software updates.
