Android 2.3.3 OTA rolling out for Nexus S and Nexus One devices

Finally! Android 2.3.3, aka Gingerbread, is rolling out as an over-the-air update for Nexus One and Nexus S users.

For the newer Nexus S device, Android 2.3.3 will bring with it new near-field communications (NFC) capabilities. For the OG Nexus One device, you can finally enjoy the latest official stock Android OS! Don’t be too upset if you haven’t received your update yet though, as the GoogleNexus Twitter account is advising users that the OTA could take a few weeks to roll out completely.

If you’ve already gotten the Android 2.3.3 update on your Nexus S or Nexus One, let us know how you like it in the comments!

As a Nexus One user, I will not hold my breath for this one. We’ve been told the “couple of weeks” line before haven’t we? ;)

I’m downloading the 2.3.3 Gingerbread update now on my Nexus One in BC/Canada. The Update showed up sometime in the past few hours (Feb 28th 2011) and is 43.6MB in size.

my wife’s nexus s got the update but mine hasn’t yet. weird. Still waiting

Still wait here too (UK). Tried the manual update but kept throwing up errors! Hope this OTA update doesn’t take too much longer.

Samsung Google Nexus S, currently on version 2.3.1

Still waiting for the ota update, even though my N1 received 2.3.3 last week.

Why is there no other way to get the genuine Google update, other than by waiting for several weeks?

It’s not like sensible people actually download it “over the air” anyway, surely most people do it over home/work wifi when we get the notification.

    Frustrating. . .

    hi…
I have the nexus s and my phone has not been updated since the android 2.3.1..(i checked today – 3rd April 2011)
i tried manually installing it yesterday but when i got to the orange exclamation mark in the triangle i tried to go to the next step using volume up and the power button several times but nothing happened.. the phone was just stuck on that screen.. i had to remove the battery and restart the phone.. after which the first screen where i seleted the recovery mode option would not turn on either (phone worked fine).

    Can someone please tell me:
    1) what i have to do to get updates sent automatically to my phone?
    2) why the screen was stuck on the exclamation mark part and wouldnt go any further??
    3) what i have to do next?
