Samsung airs a brief teaser for the Galaxy S8 on Korean TV

In recent days we’ve seen leaked high-res renders, details on the Bixby AI assistant as well as European pricing for the Galaxy S8 leak via the usual sources. With its March 29th launch just a few days away, Samsung’s huge marketing department is getting in on the act of keeping the tech world’s attention focused firmly on the Galaxy S8. Join us after the break to watch Samsung’s 15-second teaser that aired on Korean television earlier.

The teaser starts off counting to 8 and then shows a man walking across a room to open the front door. While the actual Galaxy 8 handset isn’t shown, the number “8” is floating in space outside the living space. The main gist of the teaser is to state “Completion and beginning“, implying the dawn of a new era, possibly drawing a line under the disaster that was the brilliant yet fatally flawed Galaxy Note 7.

The footage doesn’t reveal much if anything about the handset itself, but it is a sure sign that Samsung is ramping up the hype machine for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus in the build-up to the launch.

What we do know about the Galaxy S8 is that it will sport the Snapdragon 835 processor (or Series-9 Exynos, depending on region), a 5.8 or 6.2-inch display, a 12MP rear camera that can take incredible slo-mo video, dedicated Bixby button, as well as a rear fingerprint reader and the absence of the trademark Home button.

At this point, is there anything you’d like to know about the Galaxy S8 that hasn’t been leaked? Let us know in the comments.
