There are not many devices on the market yet that have made the step up to Android 7.1.1. OnePlus can now claim two of them after they announced the official upgrade to their OxygenOS 4.1 to incorporate the latest build of Android. The devices getting the update include the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. That will be a nice added bonus for buyers interested in the special OnePlus 3T Colette Edition that will drop next week in France.
According to the change logs from OnePlus, the latest update to OxygenOS includes more than just the Android update. Other changes include:
- the March 2017 Google security patch
- expanded screenshots capability
- improved blur reduction when taking pictures of moving objects
- improved video recording stability
- improved WiFi connectivity
- improved Bluetooth connectivity
- the usual bug fixes.
The update is being delivered over-the-air (OTA) in a phased approach starting today. Owners of the devices should be on the lookout for a notification letting them know an update is available for their device. OnePlus indicates it should only take a few days to hit all devices. Currently the update is not available on the OnePlus downloads page, so users who wanted to manually take care of the update without waiting are out of luck for now.
