LG could launch a “G6 Compact” alongside its flagship this year

There’s a lot of excitement around LG’s upcoming flagship this year, but according to new trademark filings spotted by Phandroid, we could see more than just the LG G6.

One of the trademarks is for a “G6 Lite,” presumably indicating that LG is doing something similar to Samsung in offering a dumbed-down version of its flagship smartphone. There’s also a filing for an LG G6 Compact. We’re definitely not sure what that will all entail, but LG could be seeking to offer a much smaller version of its flagship. If so, it might not be something we see in the US, since these things tend to be aimed at emerging markets.

It’s all speculation at this point, but some of the other trademark filings include the G6 Hybrid, G6 Fit, G6 Sense, G6 Young, G6 Forte, G6 Prix.

Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is only a few weeks away, so it won’t be long before we hear something more official from LG itself.

So only emerging markets don’t want to have super huge phones and pay a huge amounts for a phone that’ll last 2-3 years?
My bad, here I thought that being Canadian meant that I could have a phone that fits in my hands and within my personal budget
