It’s long been rumored, but Samsung today finally took off the wraps of its new Galaxy A series for 2017. The Galaxy A7, A5 and A3 are all getting a fresh new coat of paint, bringing them more in line with the Galaxy S7’s design.
All three phones are pretty similar — at least in design — with the Galaxy A7 being the most premium of these three phones. Starting at the top, the Galaxy A7 features a large 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.9GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 16-megapixel camera. You also get a 3,600mAh battery with fast charging capabilities.
The Galaxy A5 is the next one down the line, with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display. It essentially has all the same specification as the A7, with the difference being the smaller screen as well as a tinier 3,000mAh battery.
Finally, you have the Galaxy A3. It has a small 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel rear camera. You only get 16GB of storage and have a smaller battery at 2,350mAh.
All of these phones come with a microSD slot to expand storage up to 256GB, but also all feature the IP68 water and dust resistance. Not only that, but you get the Always On display, too. As far as the construction goes, like we said, Samsung is aligning these more like its Galaxy S7 series. In other words, all three Galaxy A phones have a metal (or aluminum) construction and have that 3D glass back as well.
They’ll have available in Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist and Peach Cloud. You can purchase them in Russia starting in early January. Samsung will be expanding them globally after that.
