Rumors have been floating around that HTC might be looking to take on Samsung’s Galaxy Note lineup with its own device called the Ocean Note. But now, famous leakster OnLeaks is saying it’ll be called the HTC U Ultra.

Details after the break.

At this point, the “U” in the phone’s name makes no sense. But, it could have something to do with the invite HTC is sending out for its January 12 event, which aptly reads “For U.”

Either way, this phone is reported to have a massive 6-inch display, but no 3.5mm audio jack. That’s not quite a surprise, when many top manufacturers have been opting to ditch that piece of hardware. On the other hand, with this phone, we should see an adoption of USB Type-C and it’ll have dual-SIM support.

Rumored launch colors include Black, Blue and White. We should see some other models of the same device, going under codenames Ocean Smart and Ocean Master.

Sit tight, folks, We’re a little under two weeks away before HTC takes the wraps off of its own “Next Big Thing,” as Samsung might put it.
