Samsung must feel like everyone is just piling on now regarding all of the trouble they have had with the Galaxy Note 7. From a continuous litany of explosive puns and digs directed at the company to lawsuits to the financial impact of the failed product launch, Samsung cannot seem to get out in front of the issue. Now they find themselves the target of a shot from none other than President Obama.
Obama was recently in Florida speaking at Miami Dade College regarding the Affordable Care Act. If you have not been paying attention, there has been a significant uptick in the number of insurance companies who are either pulling out of the exchanges or who are implementing massive rate hikes for the upcoming year. For Republicans or anyone else who has been opposed to the ACA, this is source material for claims that the ACA should be scrapped.
Obama says not so fast and points to Samsung and the Galaxy Note 7, not by name but we all know they are the target, in trying to create an analogy for how to handle the challenges the ACA is experiencing. His comment was:
“When one of these companies comes out with a new smartphone, and it has a few bugs, what do they do? They fix it, they upgrade. Unless it catches fire and then they just, then they pull it off the market.”
That’s gotta burn.
