Best Buy throws in some insane goodies for Google Pixel purchases on Verizon

Planning on grabbing one of the new Google Pixel phones on Verizon? Then you should probably order it from Best Buy, as the big-box retailer is throwing in some extra goodies for free with your purchase.

If you buy a Pixel or Pixel XL from Best Buy and activate it on Verizon, the retailer will throw in a free Chromecast Ultra as well as a $100 gift card to spend on anything at Best Buy’s store.

There are two small caveats to think of, though. Verizon and Google are throwing in a free Daydream Viewer when you buy the handset from them, but Best Buy isn’t. Instead, you get the free Chromecast Ultra and $100 gift card. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. With the Daydream Viewer costing $79, you’re actually getting more value out of this package from Best Buy.

The other small caveat to think about is that the bootloader isn’t unlockable on Verizon. Now, for most of society, that isn’t a big deal. But, if you’re someone that likes to enjoy the modding scene, it’s going to be a bit of a problem.

The Google Pixel and Pixel XL are available to pre-order from Best Buy on Verizon right now. You won’t have to spend gobs of money upfront either, as you can hop on a device payment plan, helping that blow to your wallet feel not as bad.
