Moto Z and Moto G4 lines expected to see Nougat by the end of the year

Well, we knew the Moto Z family wouldn’t be getting updates as quickly as Nexus devices, but it looks like Lenovo isn’t lagging too far behind on getting their current crop of smartphones updated to Nougat.

We’re already seeing Nougat rolled out to a few other phones (and other phones shipping with it) but Lenovo plans on updating their entire Moto Z line and Moto G4 line to Android 7.0 in Q4. That’s a broad range of dates going from October until December 31st, but at least that means it’s happening.

The phones included here are the Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Play, Moto G4, and Moto G4 Plus, and possibly maybe could be the Verizon versions of those phones. We’ll have to see how Verizon feels when the weather starts cooling down.

No word on other older Moto phones, unfortunately, but there’s still time for Lenovo to get the ball rolling.
