If you’re still holding out for the ZenWatch 3, you’ll want to keep an eye on the latest set of leaks about the upcoming ASUS smartwatch.
We’ve already seen reports that the ZenWatch 3 will come with a round face, but these new images solidify that rumor. The pictures show a smartwatch with a round face and round charger, which is just short of an official confirmation from ASUS.
Unfortunately, there aren’t many other details about the watch, besides what we know from the FCC filing. We know it will have Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n (but no cellular radios), and a 2-amp charger. The filing suggested it would come in stainless steel black, but this leak shows the device with a gold trim around the face, which could mean we’ll see it in a few different color options. It’s also pretty likely to stick to Android Wear, if ASUS’s track record holds up.
ASUS hasn’t mentioned anything about this new watch, but we’re getting close to the point where they’ll have to make an announcement. IFA is just around the corner, and we know Samsung is prepping a smartwatch event for their conference. That might be a good opportunity for ASUS to bring out their ZenWatch 3 as competition.
