You can pre-order Fossil’s latest Android Wear smartwatches from August 12th

Fossil first got into the smart watch game last year with its Q Founder wearable that blended premium design with Android Wear for a reasonable price. The fashion accessories company announced it would launch follow-up devices earlier this year and now it has specified a date for the launch of the two smart watches called Q Wander and Q Marshal along with pricing.

Both models are priced from $295 and are set to launch officially on August 29th, with pre-orders opening up on Friday, August 12th. The Q Wander (main image, left) is the daintier of the two watches, sporting a rose gold metal frame and slimmer, sleeker curves. The Marshal is a more masculine affair, with a bulkier frame, heftier pin guards, and a more pronounced crown. Both watches sport Always On Displays, and both sport the flat tire design that is most commonly seen on Motorola’s Moto 360 range of wearables. It’s a design choice that you either love or hate.

Naturally, because the Q Marshal and Q Wander are running Google’s Android Wear platform, they are compatible with Android as well as iOS. Both watches feature a microphone and a speaker, and will recharge via the included magnetic charging unit.

For $295, Fossil’s Q Wander and Q Marshal smart watches look appealing, so long as you can get past that ghastly flat tire at the bottom of the display. Are you tempted by Fossil’s latest offerings, or are you waiting to see what Google launches in the coming months? As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
