Sub $100 LG K3 has just arrived on Boost and Virgin Mobile

For those of you who are currently on one of Sprint’s MVNOs, or possibly looking to switch to one of these two services, as of today you now have the option of purchasing a new device, the LG K3. This budget device isn’t going to knock anyone’s socks off, but for under $100 it is a pretty decent bang for your buck. Hit the break to see what this baby is packing.

As I said above this device is definitely in the budget sector of the smartphone market, but in today’s smartphone market the budget sector doesn’t necessarily mean you are getting a terrible user experience. And while I can’t speak off first hand experience with this phone, it seems to pack enough power to deliver a decent experience for non-power users. For your 79 hard earned dollars you are going to get a phone with specs that include:

  • Android™ 6.0 Marshmallow OS
  • 4.5-inch IPS touchscreen display
  • 3G/4G LTE
  • 8GB Internal Storage expandable via micro SD card slot
  • 1GB RAM
  • 1,940mAh battery rated for 14 hours of talk time
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 1.1GHz quad-core processor
  • A 5MP rear facing camera with a front-facing camera

Not bad right? The one thing that does stick out to me is in the press release or on the official spec sheet there is no mention of how many megapixels the front facing camera is packing. That probably means the front facing camera is going to be abysmal, so selfie lovers beware. Other than that not too bad of a phone for $79.99.

Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile customers interested in this phone can head on over to either companies website to purchase this phone right this minute, or if you’d rather purchase it from a brick and mortar store they will be available at Boost Mobile exclusive retail stores as well as select independent retailers next week.
