AT&T’s prepaid brand, Cricket Wireless, announced a retail expansion adding over 600 GameStop locations.

Cricket’s first and also largest retail distributor is GameStop, which has over 3,400 locations dispersed throughout the United States. This figure includes the 600 new locations being added. Additionally, GameStop will now include Cricket consultants who will be specialized to answer questions and aid in purchasing new products and services. At least one consultant is said to present at each and every GameStop location.

Cricket may look to expand its influence through other retailers in the United States as well. This is all part of their big efforts to expand their presence through different retailers. So far, the strategy has only done good for them, putting them in the top ranks among prepaid carriers. More details are available in the press release attached below.

GameStop Adds Dedicated Cricket Consultants in Stores Across the Country

ATLANTA, June 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Cricket Wireless announced today that GameStop now offers Cricket’s wireless products and services in 3,400 U.S. locations, making GameStop Cricket’s largest retail distributor.

“We are pleased to have been Cricket’s first national distribution network and now we’re its largest,” said Jason Cochran, senior vice president of U.S. stores at GameStop. “The strategic relationship builds on the strengths and benefits of both retailers as we continue to enhance and expand mobile services presence nationwide bringing sales, service and convenience to locations near every shopper.”

In addition, customers who visit select GameStop locations can now speak with a Dedicated Cricket Consultant—a GameStop employee trained to answer questions about all things Cricket.  Consultants can help potential and current Cricket customers choose the best device for their lifestyle, answer billing questions and aid in purchasing new devices and services.

“By expanding the number of stores and having dedicated Cricket consultants in certain GameStop locations, we’re continuing to add to the great Cricket experience customers already receive today in GameStop,” said Cricket Vice President of Sales Dave Fine. “It’s this type of focus on the customer that makes our retail relationship with GameStop a perfect fit.”

Cricket customers who visit participating GameStop will also have the opportunity to trade-in pre-owned video games and to use the money to pay for their Cricket service or device.
