Samsung is launching a special offer for Father’s Day giving buyers of several Samsung Galaxy devices a free Gear VR. The special promotion applies to the new Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, and the Galaxy Note 5. The deal will be available for purchases or device leases through participating retailers and if you happen to go through Best Buy, you will be able to walk out the door with your new Gear VR in hand with your new Galaxy smartphone.

In addition to a Gear VR valued at $99, consumers who take advantage of this special promotion will be given access to special “VR content experience” package, valued at $50 retail, accessed through the Oculus app. The special downloadable content will be available through September 30, 2016.

Samsung indicates the special Father’s Day promotion will be applicable to purchases of the qualifying devices made between June 1st and June 19th. For buyers who go through carriers or through retailers other than Best Buy, they have to submit their claim form online by June 30, 2016. Samsung does indicate the promotion is only good while supplies last. They appear to have 600,000 units set aside for fulfillment though since buyers can opt for a $100 Samsung.com “Reward eCertificate” in place of the Gear VR if claims in excess of that number are submitted.
