Whether it’s been because it gave away 30,000 VR headsets, or because its 3rd flagship has been spotted being certified at China’s TENAA, or even because the specifications of the upcoming OP3 have leaked all over the internet, OnePlus has been in the news a fair amount recently. Today, the cheeky upstart handset maker has finally announced the date that it will launch the OnePlus 3.
OnePlus shared the news on the Chinese social media site, Weibo, that it will take the wraps off the OnePlus 3 on June 15th, at an event held in China at 10AM (6PM GMT). Once it begins, you’ll need to put your VR headset on to view the event as it’s meant to be seen.
According to the specifications that leaked as it passed through TENAA certification, the OnePlus 3 will sport a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, 16MP rear camera, NFC, and a 3,000 battery. It’s also believed that the button below the display houses a fingerprint reader.
For now, it isn’t known when the OnePlus 3 will begin shipping, nor how much it will cost. Also, will there be variants with more storage? And will it be a flagship killer? Who knows. Now that we know the OnePlus 3 will launch on June 15th, there really isn’t much longer to wait, especially for those lucky few that will be chosen to review the OnePlus 3 earlier than everyone else.
