Update (5/15/16): Evan Blass has clarified that this is actually the Moto G4 we’re looking at here.
Original Story (5/14/16):
Motorola (or should we say Lenovo?) has turned into a sieve when it comes to their 2016 lineup of devices, for better or worse. Evan Blass has tweeted out the latest leak, which looks like it might be the 2016 edition of the popular Moto E.
The newest Moto E has leaked before, but this is the first time we’ve gotten an actual look at the device. No word on specs, but if the previous rumor holds true we’re looking at a 720p display with a MediaTek processor and 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB of internal storage. Considering the Moto E is the most budget-friendly model in Motorola’s lineup, that’s a pretty compelling package if that hardware does turn out to be right.
The second generation Moto E features a 4.5-inch sub-HD screen, a Snapdragon 200 CPU with only 1 GB of RAM, and just 8 GB of internal storage. It seems like Lenovo is going to make their first Moto E bigger and better in every way possible, with the fingerprint scanner being the only major selling point that’s absent here. But really, is anyone expecting a $100 phone to launch with a fingerprint scanner?
Anybody excited for a new Moto E?
