For those that have waited patiently to get their hands on Google’s Cardboard VR viewer, you are in luck. Google has just announced that its second generation Cardboard VR viewer is now available from the Google Store in the UK, France, and Germany, as well as Canada.

If you are just taking your first steps into the world of virtual reality, buying a Cardboard VR viewer is a cheap way to do to dip your toe in the water, so to speak. The 2nd gen Cardboard VR can be ordered directly from the Google Store for the following prices:

  • UK: £15, or £25 for a two-pack
  • Germany/France: €20, or €30 for a two-pack
  • Canada: $20, or $35 for a two-pack

For the moment at least, it seems that Google is only offering the stock version of the Cardboard VR viewer, as opposed to the special edition units that are available from the US Google Store.

If you were waiting for Google’s Cardboard VR viewer to become available in your country, which of the thousands of apps, games, and videos have you been looking forward to using the most? Remember to check out Google’s first live action film ‘Help‘, while it’s only 5 minutes long, it offers a great insight into the future of VR and cinematography.
