Podcasts could come to Play Music on April 18, report says

If a recent rumor is to be true, podcasts could be coming to Play Music in a little under a week. Google has been hinting since October that podcasts would be coming to its Play Music service, but now April 18 could be the date we actually see it.

This rumor comes by way of NPR, a public radio network. The company sent out an email to its team, announcing that the network’s podcasts would soon be on Play Music. That information got passed along to Android Police, and thanks to them, here’s the full rundown:

“Google will launch podcasts on Android and other platforms next Monday, April 18, inside of Google Play Music, a streaming service similar to Apple Music. Please note: this information is embargoed and should not be shared or promoted externally until Monday. NPR has worked with Google to ensure that public radio is represented in the Google Play environment. Learn more about adding your station’s podcasts to this new platform.”

If that information is anything to go on, we should see Podcasts become available on Play Music this coming Monday. Of course, nothing’s official until we get something solid from Google itself, but this information seems pretty credible to go off of.

Keep your eyes peeled this coming Monday, folks!
