Waze video reveals new interface for upcoming 4.0 release

The team of developers over at Waze has released a new video giving us a peek at what the new, overhauled interface will look like when version 4.0 hits the Play Store. Waze says the update provides higher visibility and clarity. To achieve that, they have decluttered the map, provided brighter buttons and report pins will be color-coded.

Besides the fresh new look for the main screen, the interface changes are designed to enhance the overall use experience as well. Waze indicates some of the features improved by tweaks to the interface include quicker access to destinations and easier reporting through the use of color coding. The app will also make better use of available screen real estate and colors to present information on what lies ahead on your journey.  A new one-tap ETA function is being added to the app. Also spotted on the driving screen is a new speedometer function displaying current speed.

Waze has not released any information on when the new version will hit the Play Store, but we would not be surprised to see it show up over the course of the next few days. You can grab Waze using the link below if you have not given it a try.

Not at all. I’ve been using the beta for a month and they’ve made huge improvements. It’s very stable and can’t be far from release

I believe you but there is no excuse why its been almost half a year and still nothing. This is really disappointing.

Very true but I’m sure it won’t be long now-they’ve added another load of stuff recently and it feels like it’s almost there. Try the apk. It’s pretty good
