Are you one of those extremely patient Dell Streak 5 users on AT&T who have suffered the same fate as various Galaxy S users regarding an attempt to get Froyo on your device? Want some good news? You have two options. 1 – You can hop on the XDA developers site and hack the crap out of your device, bringing it up to par with other mobile devices or 2 – You can wait until Feb 1st. Thanks to a statement by Best Buy, it looks like Dell Streak 5 users could be seeing a 2.2 update on that day.
You’ve been asking and now there’s an answer! The Dell Streak will receive an over-the-air (OTA) update to Android 2.2 on Tuesday, Feb. 1. This information should help generate excitement with customers who have been asking for the update.
So, for now, don’t hold your breath, because we’ve seen these statements made before. But, if you’re one of the lucky few to start receiving the update, then be sure to head back over to Talk Android and let us know. Here’s to hoping Dell and AT&T follow through on this.
