Latest Galaxy S7 leak hints to the return of the MicroSD card

We may only be a few days away from the official launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets, but did you really believe that there wouldn’t be any further leaks? Of course not. Today’s leak intimates that a much-loved feature missing from the Galaxy S6 (reviewed here) will indeed be returning in the S7, as well as a video giving us a brief glimpse of Samsung’s new version of TouchWiz.

Thanks to the picture and video footage obtained by Android Authority, it would appear to confirm that the Galaxy S7 (and presumably the S7 Edge as well), will feature a MicroSD card slot. As you can see from the image above, the SIM tray has dual functionality, boasting both a MicroSD and SIM slot.

On to the video, and here we can see that the previously leaked wallpapers from a few days back are genuine, along with the refined metal and glass design we’ve seen in the most recent leaks and renders.

If there is a MicroSD slot on the S7 and S7 Edge handsets, what other features would you like to see at the launch event on February 21st at the MWC in Barcelona? Let us know in the comments below.
