It looks like the timer has officially begun, unofficially, for the release of T-Mobile’s new Samsung Vibrant 4G device. Thanks to our friends over at TmoNews, one of their trusty ninjas slipped them a little release date for this bad boy. If you ask me, I’d say there is some merit to it since we have already confirmed that the Cliq 2 was being released on Jan 19th as the doc shows.
Mark your calendars for Feb 23rd, as this could be the day you’re able to wait in a long cold line for the device. In addition, thanks to the guys over at BGR, we finally have a descent pic of the smartphone as well. It doesn’t look all that different from T-Mobile’s current Vibrant, but still a beauty nonetheless. Obviously, the difference is the 4G, as the device will support T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network. Question is, will you run out and get one, knowing there “might” be a “possibility” it won’t see an update to Gingerbread 2.3 for a while? It’s a sad state of affairs but it has to be mentioned. Current T-Mobile customers are about to watch the Vibrant 4G pass them by, touting Froyo 2.2, while they’re still sitting in the dust with 2.1 Eclair. If you’re a Vibrant 3G owner, how does that make you feel? Feel free to fire away in the comments below.
