Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc to support ten-point multi-touch

One of the biggest complaints about the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 was its lack of multi-touch support, which is pretty much a standard feature in decent smartphones nowadays. Well, Sony has learned from their mistakes, and has given the upcoming Xperia Arc not 1, not 2, but over 10 points of multi-touch. This is all possible thanks to the Arc’s Cypress TrueTouch All-Point digitizer, which is capable of up to 32 X/Y sensor inputs.

Obviously 32 is a lot greater than 10, but unless you have three people all clamoring around your phone with their grubby fingers it’s probably easier to just call it 10-point multi-touch. Regardless of what you call it, this is great news for the Arc and a good sign that Sony is learning from their mistakes with the previous members of the Xperia line.

That’s good, cuz if there is one feature missing from my phone its to be able to have all ten of my fingers on the screen at once.
