Dell Venue running Android and no slider keyboard

Dell has announced a new version of the Venue Pro, but without the Pro. It’s the new Dell Venue, and its running Android instead of Windows Phone 7 like we saw in the Venue Pro. Also, it’s without the portrait slider keyboard too, which we saw in the Palm Pre.

Like other smartphone manufacturers, Dell seems to be trying out other platforms rather than pooling all their eggs into the Windows Phone 7 basket, or visa versa. This device in particular comes with Android 2.2, 4.1 inch touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass, 8 megapixel camera, 1GHz Snapdragon, and it’ll be sold unlocked. No price was announced for it, but its a beefy phone, so don’t be surprised if its around the $400 mark unlocked without a contract.
