Froyo update for Samsung Epic 4G put on hold

Bad news for Samsung Epic 4G users. Just last week, a leaked internal memo from Sprint stated that the update to Android 2.2 for Epic 4G devices would begin on December 26th. Well obviously, that didn’t happen.

Sprint is now saying that the Froyo update for Samsung Epic 4G devices are being put on hold. There’s no ETA on when the update will finally be released, but some signs point to a January release.

As per usual, Epic4G users will just have to sit tight until more news about this matter is released.

Ya, I give up on Samsung. This phone is AMAZING and I tried DK28 or w/e and touchwiz 3.0 was freaking great. 2.2 in general was nice but yes there were some issues I had here and there so I just decided after hearing about this promising leak to down grade back to DI18. But whatever, I give up on caring and anytime I see/hear news regarding the Epic period I just get depressed because it just reminds me of how I’m never going to get FroYo because they can’t get their stuff together.

When my contract is up with sprint, I’m going back to blackberry with verizon. They os with the bb was constantly updated. Basically samsung and sprint suck and its a shame how their customers are treated.

I bought an iPad instead of a Galaxy tablet due to getting screwed around with this update. Samsung just worked themselves out of any future purchases on my household. The wife has an Evo that has had Froyo since the summer…

jus spoke to customer service who has an epic n is kinda upset… google held back and it doesn’t seem like they won’t come till after 2.3 n possibly till march…
