Sony sues LG over patents

In the latest “everybody suing everybody” news, Sony has fired a patent lawsuit at LG in the U.S. District Court in the Central District of California. The lawsuit is actually aimed at two separate subsidiaries of LG: LG Electronics Mobilecomm U.S.A. Inc. and LG Electronics U.S.A. Inc.

While the specifics of the case haven’t yet reached public knowledge, we can probably be sure that the patent lawsuit doesn’t target any Android phones directly. However, whenever a manufacturer hits the courts, and they make Android devices, we call it Android news. There are also reports that “Sony is attempting to block LG’s mobile phones from entering the United States, on the basis that phones such as LG’s the Lotus Elite, Neon, Remarq, Rumor 2 and Xenon use Sony technology.”

What I don’t get about all of this, so what if LG is using Sony Technology. Seeings how if they are, they’ve already PAID Sony for the use of it. Therefore they have not lost any income. Secondly, it’s not like LG is the only one using their Technology, Sony has had their mits in everyone’s business from one point in time or another. Computer Monitors, TV’s, etc… So how is this any different? I think Sony just needs to shut up and move on in my opinion!
