As we all know, the Snapdragon line is currently the “top dog” of the smartphone processor market. Currently the 1Ghz Snapdragon holds the title, but that will be changing shortly.

At Computex this week, Qualcomm announced that it has begun shipping samples of their 1.2Ghz dual-CPU chipsets (MSM8260 & MSM8660) to manufacturers for use in future high-end smartphones and other mobile devices. Both chipset includes an integrated low-power GPU, low power audio engine, 1080p encoding/decoding and Open GLES 2.0 & Open VG 1.1 graphics acceleration that will include support for 1280 x 800 displays.

Also down the line is another 3rd-gen, dual-CPU Snapdragon chipset (QSD6672) that can run at up to 1.5Ghz. Although it seems not many details were available at this time.
