Sprint’s latest Android phone, the Sprint EVO 4G, might not be planned for release until June 4th, but that hasn’t stopped Android hackers successfully rooting the device nearly two weeks early.
A number of Sprint HTC EVO 4G handsets were given away at the recent Google I/O event, with one of the handsets ending up in the hands of the Android hackers at grack.com.
Details of the hack have yet to be published online (presumably to prevent any last minute patches before the device ships), but they have some video footage of a rooted Sprint EVO 4G in action.
